Celestial Grimoire — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026. This policy covers the Celestial Grimoire app for Android and Windows, made by Niagara Indie Apps. It applies to both editions: the one on Google Play and the one downloaded from niagaraindieapps.com, and to the demo on this website. Celestial Grimoire does not need an account. Everything you enter is kept on your own device.

The following is stored only in the app's database on your device: • your name or display name, birth date, birth time, birthplace, time zone, and birth notes, which the app needs to calculate your chart and Daily Cards • a current location, entered as a place name, only if you turn on sunrise-based Daily Card timing • your journal entries, favorites, and collected Daily Cards • compatibility profiles you create for other people (name and birth details) • your settings, such as house system, notifications, and theme None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.

When you search for a birthplace or current location, the text you type is sent to your device's built-in place-lookup service (for example, Google's location services on Android) to turn it into map coordinates. We never see that search. The app does not otherwise use your location or GPS, and does not ask for location permission.

Daily Card, Moon phase, and journal reminders are scheduled and shown on your device by its own notification system. No notification server is involved. You can turn each type off in Settings.

Celestial Grimoire contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash-reporting services, and no cloud sync. It does not use your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

Any purchase in the Google Play edition is handled by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy; we never receive your payment details. The Google Play edition has no trial, never contacts our servers, and does not use this website's checkout.

The edition downloaded from niagaraindieapps.com includes a free 3-day trial. To run it, the app stores the time you first opened it, plus a random ID it creates when installed, on your device. That ID is not a hardware, advertising, or Windows product ID. Nothing is sent to us during the trial.

After the trial, the website edition is unlocked with a license bought on this website. When you activate a license, the app sends the following to our license server at niagaraindieapps.com: • your license key • this app's ID • the random device ID described above • the platform (Android or Windows) and the app version When the app later re-checks the license while online, or when you remove a device, it sends only your license key and that device ID. Our server stores a one-way hash of the device ID, the platform, the app version, and when the device was activated and last checked. It also records the IP address of each license request in a license activity log. We use this only to verify your license, enforce its limit of 2 devices, and prevent license abuse. Your birth details, charts, and journal are never sent.

Website licenses are bought on niagaraindieapps.com. The information you give at checkout (such as your email address) is covered by the site-wide Privacy Policy at niagaraindieapps.com/privacy. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and we never receive your full card number.

If you share a Daily Card, the app creates an image on your device and passes it to the app you choose. The image never includes your birth date, birth time, birthplace, or journal. We never receive a copy.

Settings → Erase All Data removes your profile, journal, favorites, collected cards, compatibility profiles, and settings from your device immediately. Uninstalling the app also deletes them. To free a device from your license, use niagaraindieapps.com/license/manage. To ask us to delete the license records we hold, contact us as described below.

Celestial Grimoire is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If a future version of Celestial Grimoire changes how it handles data, we will update this page before that version is released.
